We are a small but mighty collection of educators that love what they do. This is NANA.

Meet the teachers

Through the guidance of our early childhood development teachers, children enjoy learning experiences that promote their growing independence, self-confidence and social skills. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of the children in our care.

I became an Early Childhood Educator in…2019

Something about me… In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, travelling, and spending time outdoors. I’m currently working on my B.Ed so I spent a lot of my free time reading and studying.

Why Early Childhood Education? I decided to pursue ECE because of my love for children and it quickly grew into an incredibly meaningful passion of mine. Each day it is a privilege to connect with children during a developmentally pivotal part of their early years. When I joined NANA I knew I was going to be a part of an amazing journey where the emotional and developmental well-being of the child is the number one priority.

Favourite quote… “Beneath every behaviour, there is a feeling, and beneath each feeling is a need. And when we meet that need rather than focus on the behaviour, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom." - Ashleigh Warner

Something About Me… I joined NANA and was amazed by the love and support found in this school. When I started working with ages 3 to 5 I realized how special these early years are for their growth. I am excited to work in an environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help them build their confidence.

Why Early Childhood Education? I took the Early Childhood Education program because I liked to work with children ever since I was little. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher.

Favourite Quote… “Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners, and the love of bringing the first two loves together.”

Something about me… I am a wife and a mother. I love singing, playing badminton, and exploring new places together with my family.

Why Early Childhood Education? Growing up in a family of educators, I always looked up and wanted to be like my mom when I grew up. After achieving my Bachelor's Degree in Education and teaching as a Grade 1 teacher in the Philippines for five years, I was inspired to continue my passion when we moved to Canada. I love providing learning opportunities and experiences to young children that help them reach their full potential.

I became an Early Childhood Educator in… 2021

Something about me… I spent most of my life in Korea and moved to Canada in 2017. I have worked in various jobs, including being an elementary school teacher, finish carpenter, cabinet service technician, and now an ECE teacher. I love traveling and feel happiest when preparing for my next trip. In my spare time, I enjoy watching YouTube channels about the economy and stocks.

Why Early Childhood Education? I have spent most of my life working with children of different ages. For 15 years, I taught elementary school students from grades 1 to 6. During my paternity leave for my son, I realized that understanding a baby’s mind is not easy, which made me want to learn more about their psychology.

Something about me… I have an amazing son and I enjoy being with children, teaching, guiding, and playing with them.

Why Early Childhood Education? I believe children using their imagination is an important tool and skill that children develop at an early age. I am patient and creativity is one of my strengths, which is perhaps why I feel working with children is as exciting for me as I hope it is for them! I believe reading aloud, singing, teaching, and encouraging children to love books and find unique ways to illustrate them builds not only a great imagination but also facilitates comprehension and literacy in their future. I am grateful that I am a part of the NANA team.

Something about me… My hobby is crochet knitting, learning foreign languages, and reading detective novels.

Why Early Childhood Education? I like to learn, so it naturally led to an opportunity to teach children. At the time, I thought to myself that the job of teacher is not just to teach, but to constantly learn. After I got married and had a son, I was particularly interested in ECE and how important it is in a child’s life. So, I read many books, took classes, and studied to become an ECE teacher.

Favorite quote… “Every child is a different kind of flower and all together they make this world a beautiful garden.”

Favourite quote… “Children are not meant to work for love. They are meant to rest in someone’s care so that they can play and grow; this is why relationships matter.”

Something about me… I am from Vietnam and graduated from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. I came to BC in 2023 and immediately fell in love with the people and nature. I like traveling, cooking and listening to books or music when I have free time.

Why Early Childhood Education?  In my home country, ECE does not seem like a good career as I have heard from people around me. However, I believed in a different truth that “Early education matters and ECE matters”. Luckily, I have parents who supported to study abroad and I decided to register ECE field. The more I learn about it, the more I know that I chose the right career path.
