Our goal is to help children develop a lifelong love of learning.

Our story all began with an idea. My name is Isha Singh and I would love to tell you my story.

My name is Isha Singh and I am a licensed Early Childhood Educator. I have two beautiful children, my daughter Naveya and my son Vivaan. Becoming a mother led me to the path of becoming an early childhood educator because I wanted to spend more time with my little ones. When COVID hit the world in 2020, this was when I decided that I would follow my dream and open a center of my own.

I have always been passionate about education and teaching. This passion developed at a very young age for me as I was always one of the oldest cousins in our very large extended family. I have worked as an Applied Behaviour Analyst-Support Worker for the Surrey School Board and Burnaby School Board for nearly 10 years prior to beginning my journey as a childcare provider.

On my free time, if there ever is any, I like to read novels, go for nature walks, and watch movies. I am fortunate to have my supportive family by my side always.

The name I have chosen for the center is Nature and Nurture Academy - NANA. I chose this name because I feel each child is truly unique with a certain bit of personality they are born with and a bit that is reshaped through their life experiences. NANA just instantaneously gives you a warm fuzzy feeling of the unconditional love a grandparent has for their grandchild. This is the unconditional love I thrive to provide all children that enter the doors of NANA.

NANA stands by supporting the whole child with meaningful connections.

Nature and Nurture Academy defies B.C. licencing standards for classroom ratios and advocates for the children in our care having more support from their classroom teachers.

While B.C. licencing requires a 1:4 ratio for infants and toddlers, and a 1:8 ratio for 3 to 5 years, NANA stands by supporting the whole child with meaningful connections and taking time to make day-to-day connections.

At NANA, our infant and toddler programs will run at a 1:3 ratio, and the 3-5 program will run at a 1:6 ratio whenever possible. With these ratios, we ensure that the needs of all children in our care are adequately seen and heard as they deserve to be.
